Nice illustration: in real photos atomic submarines never have the cool red and blue lighting we see in "Hunt for Red October".

Wow! It seems like you should have the background music for "2001" playing when you look at that. It's really magnificent.
That's not really true about submarines not having colored lighting. When using the periscope at night, red lighting is used in the room so as not to screw up the night vision of the officers using the periscope.
