Easier for insturments to observe and a little less of that nasty, bothersome fallout if you put your nuclear device on a high tower before you make it go 'boom'!Tower is not re-usable.

You make me chuckle. Yeah, I kinda doubt that even the soil will be there--or will it become glass once the sand is blasted??? A throne for the anointed god of nuclear deities... Seems appropriate. Cool find. I never knew they did that.
